As much as we love Halloween at DiSanto Propane, we still have one more upcoming fall event to enjoy: Thanksgiving. Now that Daylight Saving has officially begun, we can cozy up indoors and enjoy spending valuable time with our loved ones.

For many of us, Thanksgiving kicks off the entire holiday season, a truly joyous time of year. If you don’t really look forward to Thanksgiving, our propane suppliers have some reasons why this holiday is so darn wonderful.

A Break For Everyone

Think about it: when was the last time you had time off from your job that you didn’t have to request? It could have been the Labor Day weekend, which was months ago, back when you spent your days cooking on your propane grill. Your vacation days are limited, so Thanksgiving provides you with a nice break without sacrificing your valuable vacation days.

You’re not the only one looking forward to this time off; your kids are absolutely delighted to finally have a few days off from school. Anyone with college students might see their kids for the first time in months. What’s not to love about this holiday?

Turkey

Unless you’re a vegetarian, you’re probably looking forward to indulging in some savory slices of turkey. Are you more old-fashioned? You could go the more traditional route and roast a delicious turkey in the oven, which is always a crowd pleaser.

The more adventurous types may decide to purchase a propane turkey fryer to deep fry your turkey. In order to deep fry your bird as safely as possible, read up on safety precautions first. At DiSanto Propane, we take propane safety very seriously and we want you to enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner without setting a fire in your backyard or burning yourself.

Side Dishes

Vegetarians have nothing to worry about on Thanksgiving because they can still enjoy the plethora of side dishes available on this holiday. Some of the most common side dishes involved are mashed potatoes, stuffing, rolls or biscuits, and green bean casserole. However, some of these items could be cooked with chicken broth, so check to make sure it’s meat-free.

Are you not a vegetarian? Dig into as many side dishes as you would like with abandon and enjoy! You might be so full that you have to unbutton the top button of your pants, and that’s perfectly okay.

Dessert

Are you full following your main course? Too bad! You still have to eat dessert, so try to leave some room for your favorite slice of pie. Some common pies served this time of year include apple pie, pecan pie, sweet potato pie, cranberry pie and pumpkin pie.

If you’re having a bigger dinner, you may even have a choice of pies to choose from. If you cannot decide which pie to eat, why not eat all of them?

Fall Drinks in Front of the Fireplace

Following a Turkey Day meal, you can enjoy the company of your guests in front of your propane fireplace. Why not toast this special day with your favorite pumpkin beer, hard cider or fall cocktail?

If you are more of a cocktail person, why not sip on an old-fashioned in front of the fireplace? Fall is also a great time of year to enjoy a full-bodied red wine. No matter which drink you go with, you can’t really go wrong as you enjoy the warm glow of the fireplace with your favorite people.

Hot Tub

Is there any better way to end such a great day than by soaking in your amazing propane hot tub? Although you may be feel heavier following a Thanksgiving meal and your pants may feel tighter, you feel almost weightless in a hot tub. As you may know, turkey contains tryptophan, a natural sedative, so make sure not to doze off in your tub.

Are you still not looking forward to Thanksgiving? This is a great holiday to finally spend time with your favorite friends and family members. However, your propane appliances will get quite a bit of use on this day, so make sure you have an ample fuel supply.
