In our last blog, we discussed how to clean your propane stove top in some detail. Why stop there? Having a clean kitchen is a truly gratifying feeling, and people tend to flock to your kitchen when it’s clean. Have you ever noticed how people love to gather around the kitchen counter, sipping on a glass of wine, preparing food, and chatting about their lives? However, your kitchen can transform into a truly repellent atmosphere when the floors are covered in little bits of food, junk is scattered across the counter, and the trash is overflowing with refuse. Initially, cleaning the kitchen can be an unpleasant task, but the results are well worth your hard work. Today, we would like to discuss how to clean your entire kitchen.

Clear The Counters

Before beginning any other tasks, clean your counters of any junk or debris that does not belong. If you have a stack of bills or magazines or other random items, put them away in a box to be sorted through after your kitchen is cleaned. To remove stubborn grime from the counter tops, sprinkle some all-purpose cleaning powder on the counter and scrub it with a wet sponge. To remove the residue from the cleaning powder, spray your counters with a counter cleaning spray and wipe with a clean, dry cloth.

Put Away The Dishes

Do you have dirty dishes scattered about your kitchen or piled in your sink? If you are fortunate enough to have a dishwasher, rinse your dishes and place them in the dishwasher. If not, you’ll have to wash your dishes by hand.

Clean Your Sink

Scrub your sink with the cleaning powder and then wash it with water. Next, fill your sink with hot, soapy dishwater. Soak any items in your kitchen that need a deeper clean, such as the plate in your microwave or your stove top burners. Leave them in the sink while you perform your other cleaning tasks.

Clean Your Refrigerator

Often, this task fills people with dread, but think about the relief you will feel when you open the door to your neat and tidy refrigerator. Start by tossing any food items that are expired or no longer edible into the trash. Next, wipe down the shelves with a rag sprayed with an all-purpose cleaner. Remember to also spray the outer surface of your refrigerator with all-purpose cleaner and wipe it down.

Tackle Your Microwave

Now that the plate is removed from your microwave, it’s the perfect time to clean its interior. Spray the inside with all-purpose cleaner and wipe with a clean, dry rag. For tougher stains, you may have to scrub a bit with a sponge. Once this is complete, spray the outside of your microwave with a cleaning agent and wipe it so that it sparkles.

Other Surfaces To Wipe Down

Now is a good time to wipe down the outer surface of your cabinets so that they appear like new. For a really deep clean, fill a bucket with warm, soapy water and wipe your neglected baseboards with a sponge.

The Floor

Now that your surfaces are clean, it’s time to give your kitchen floor some extra attention. Begin by thoroughly sweeping the surface of your floor. To really make your floors sparkle, follow up by mopping your floors with a clean mop. If your mop looks dirty, run to the store and buy a clean mop head. Otherwise, your floors will simply not look or feel clean.

Take Out the Trash

Once the floors are clean, you can take out the trash. Take a look at your kitchen; doesn’t it feel wonderful for it to appear so clean?
