Disney Wanted Leonardo DiCaprio to Play Max Dennison

Originally, DiCaprio was offered a huge sum of money to play the role of Max Dennison, the film’s protagonist. This role transformed DiCaprio’s career because he was nominated for both an Oscar and an Academy Award.

One of the central characters in the film is Thackery Binx, the young man who was transformed into a black cat by the witches. Binx the cat was played by nine different felines during filming.

Originally, producers offered the role of witch Mary Sanders to Rosie O’Donnell. Apparently, O’Donnell simply didn’t want to play the part of a witch that kills children. Instead, Kathy Najimy took the role.
