At DiSanto Propane, we offer a number of different propane services to New York residents. After all, if we didn’t, our name wouldn’t make much sense! We focus quite a bit on how propane can make your life a bit easier. From a propane fireplace to a propane dryer for your laundry and everything in between, our blog posts are often about how propane can benefit your home.
What we don’t focus on much, however, is the handy propane grill and the joy it can provide to homes everywhere. Yes, it’s still January, and yes, it’s still awfully cold outside. Believe it or not, there are a number of grilling devotees out there who are braving the chill and cooking up some of the best foods around.
Whether that sounds like something you’re up for or not, the truth of the matter is that even though it might not seem like it at this very moment, spring is right around the corner. And, of course, along with spring comes burgers, brats, and backyard barbecues. That’s a lot of alliteration, but it’s still good news, wouldn’t you agree?
Handle Your Propane Tank Refill Now
If you’re a grilling enthusiast, you probably made sure to get every last bit of propane out of your tank before winter hit. If that’s the case, now is the time to make certain that you’re ready to go when the sun comes out again and the temperature calls for shorts and tank tops instead of snow boots and parkas.
Propane cylinder exchange is even easier than you might think. As a matter of fact, propane exchange is as easy as 1-2-3. Clicking on that link will tell you a little bit about Mighty Flame Propane Tank Exchange and the good news is that even if you’re not in New York, Mighty Flame just might have an exchange location near you.
You might as well swing out and grab one now, because they are “right on the way” and you can get yourself all set for spring. Of course you might be gearing up for a spring celebration and it’s our opinion that it’s never too early to start planning your menu. Fortunately for you, the team at DiSanto Propane would like to take this opportunity to share one of our favorite recipes. It’s sure to put a smile on the face of every guest who is lucky enough to try it. And so, without further ado, we present…
The Perfect Burger For Your First Spring Barbecue
Celebrating the arrival of spring is a big deal. It means that the days start to get longer and everything starts to look more alive. It marks the beginning of a new season and when spring arrives, we all start to get excited. It only makes sense then that you’d want to welcome it in with a bang.
That’s why we believe that this burger is the one to end all burgers. It will leave every guest smiling and satisfied and they’ll all look to you as the new grilling master. That sounds like a win/win to us. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Ground beef
- American cheese
- Eggs (on per burger)
- Your favorite bun
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Mayo
- Seasoned salt
Just a few ingredients is all you need to create a true thing of beauty. Since you already have a fresh propane tank, go ahead and fire up your grill to medium-high heat. In the meantime, season up your ground beef and form a few patties. Be sure to put a dimple in the middle of each burger to ensure that when your burger is cooked, it will be the perfect shape.
Bringing It All Together
You’ll want to make sure you have a thermometer so you can cook each burger to its desired temperature. Keep in mind that rare is around 120 degrees, medium rare is around 130 degrees, medium is around 140 degrees, medium well is around 150 degrees, and well done is at 160 degrees.
Once your burger is almost to the desired temperature, give it one more flip and add one slice of American cheese onto each patty, cooking it until the cheese is perfectly melted. At this point, you can also toast your buns.
In the meantime, grab a griddle that’s safe to use on your grill and start cracking your eggs. Season them with a bit of salt and pepper, cook them on one side, then flip them over, season again, and call it good. Our opinion is that the perfect fried egg is over-medium, but how you cook it is completely up to you.
The Final Touches
To finish things off, you’ll want a bit of sauce. We say that the simpler it is, the better. All you have to do is add a bit of seasoned salt to some mayo and spread it over the top bun. From here, assemble your burgers, placing a fried egg on top. Stick a toothpick through the top and serve it up. It’s as simple as that!
At the end of the day, you get a perfect burger that’s just a bit out of the ordinary. You’ll love it, your guests will love it, and everyone will be excited about the arrival of spring. It really doesn’t get much better than that.
