In our previous blogs, we discussed ways to deep clean your stove top and the rest of your kitchen. With such a sparkling, tidy kitchen, you’ll want to spend more time whipping up your favorite culinary creations. However, prior to creating your edible masterpieces, you’ll need to make sure that your kitchen is stocked with the essential ingredients you need for daily cooking. Your countertops, pantry, and refrigerator need to be stocked with certain items for entertaining on a whim. Keep reading to see what you need

Refrigerator

Keep in mind that this is our list of the ingredients we like to keep on hand for cooking, but no two chefs are alike. Feel free to modify the following lists to suit your tastes. One of the handiest condiments is dijon mustard, which can be used in dressings and sauces. It never hurts to keep a half-carton or carton of eggs in your fridge, especially on Saturday or Sunday mornings, when you finally have the time to cook a substantial breakfast. Of course, you’ll always need to keep butter in your refrigerator for cooking and for seasoning vegetables. It never hurts to keep some fresh parsley on hand, which can add a delicious kick of flavor to your dish and stays fresh for long periods of time.

Pantry

No kitchen is complete without a set of salt and pepper shakers. We recommend that you step up our salt and pepper game by buying the seasonings in mills that can be ground when you need them. Some other cooking staples include onions and garlic, which tend to stay fresh longer than other veggies and provide a powerful punch of taste to your dishes. It’s also a good idea to keep a few regular and sweet potatoes on hand when you don’t really feel like cooking. All you have to do is wash them, brush them with a little oil, and bake them in the oven for an hour. As far as canned foods go, make sure to have canned tomatoes and beans on hand for soups and sauces. Rice and quinoa are also excellent go-to items for your pantry. Stock your shelves with some lemons for extra flavor. Make sure that you have plenty of olive oil, any other cooking oils, and condiments such as ketchup, soy sauce, and hot sauce available.

Spices

Keep spices close by your propane cook top for convenience. You already have salt and pepper, but other spices are usually required for a delicious dish. Make sure that you have cumin, crushed red pepper, oregano, basil, cinnamon, curry powder, garlic powder, thyme,  and onion powder.
